Portugal, Order of the Tower and Sword, a fine and early breast star, circa 1815-20, diameter 70 mm, in silver with gold and enamel centre surmounted by a gold Tower, the central legend also incorporating the founding date of the order ‘1808’, the lower five arms unusually embellished with gold and red-enamelled flames, the reverse fitted with broad silver pin and catch, some chips to the red enamel flames, otherwise nearly extremely fine and rare £1200-1500
