9th (East Norfolk) Regiment, an extremely fine and scarce officer’s 1878 pattern home service blue cloth helmet (pointed front peak) complete with gilt and silver helmet plate, this with silver centre, Britannia over ‘IX’, chin chain, spike etc., red leather sweat band, green skiver peak linings, retailed by ‘H. ANDREWS & SON, 57 Dean Street, Soho Square, London W’. Contained in its japanned metal carrying tin, this with brass plaque, ‘Capt. T. Farley 2/9th Regt.’, the helmet in near mint state overall, the tin with minor dents and scratching £700-900
