East Essex Rifles Militia, an extremely scarce officer’s pouch belt plate or Field Officer’s sabretache badge, c1855-1881, in blackened silver plate, a QVC over a pierced strap ‘ESSEX RIFLES’, enclosing three seaxes, these with a black lacquered leather backing which in turn is mounted on a circular copper back plate, reverse with two double copper wire fasteners, patent leather backing crazed, otherwise in very good condition £120-150
