4th Volunteer Battalion, The Essex Regiment, two extremely scarce cap badges, both with the post 1902 Castle design, firstly in white metal with plain plinth and title scroll ‘4th V.B ESSEX REGT’, slider fastener; secondly, in die-stamped bronze, the plinth inscribed ‘EGYPT’ and title scroll ‘4th V.B ESSEX REGT’, original fasteners, two loops behind the Sphinx, one missing, and an unthreaded bolt type device at the base, excellent condition (2) £100-120
