East Essex Rifles Militia, a very fine and rare officer’s helmet plate, c1878-1881, a QVC star pattern helmet plate with laurel wreath overlay both in blackened brass, in the centre a blackened silver strung bugle horn enclosing the County shield, this with a black velvet backing, on the base of the laurel wreath a floreate scroll ‘ESSEX RIFLES’, mint state £200-300
