Private Roy Francis Sheridan, 54th Battalion, Australian Imperial Forces was admitted to No. 4 Australian Field Ambulance Hospital on 26 September 1917 suffering from shell shock. His medical report notes: ‘This man was subjected to terrible shell fire when he was with his company in the support line in rear of Polygon Wood. He was last seen very shaken by a shell which burst nearby.’ Sold with 17 pages of copied service papers.
