An Extremely Fine Quality Boer War Tribute Medal From The Town of Lewes, Sussex, in 15 carat gold and enamels, circular, 26mm, the obverse with arms of Lewes to centre, surrounded by ‘Commune burg de Lewys Sigillum’, reverse inscribed ‘Presented by the town of Lewes to Capt. A. F. A. Howe, 1st C.P.V.R. on his return from active service in South Africa, June 17th 1901’, with double loop suspension, extremely fine and very rare £300-400

Captain A. F. A. Howe was employed on the staff of the G. O. C. Lines of Communication in the Kroonstad District during the Boer War.
