Islamic coinages, Khanate of Kashgar, Ya’qub Beg, Tilla, AH 1293 [1876], Dar al-Sultanat Kashgar, in the name of the Ottoman Sultan ’Abd al-’Aziz, 3.60g/5h (cf. KM. C37-2.5). Off-centre and pierced, otherwise better than very fine, very rare, the date apparently unpublished for the type

’Abd al-’Aziz was deposed four months into AH 1293. No coins of Ya’qub Beg are known with the title of his successor Murad V, who reigned for only three months in the summer of 1876; however pieces dated 1293 are known in the name of the next Sultan, ’Abd al-Hamid II (KM. C37-3)
