8007 Pte., R.War.R.) together with Bronze Memorial Plaque (Ernest George Baker), various original documentation, including Buckingham Palace telegram of sympathy, illuminated memorial scroll, hand written letter from Chaplain J. O. Murray, No. 3 Canadian Casualty Clearing Station, B.E.F., 13th May 1917, contemporary photographs of grave (2), and Hospital Redirection Card for ‘trench feet’, nearly extremely fine (3) £50-60

Private Ernest George Baker died of wounds, France and Flanders, 8 May 1917, while serving with 10th Battalion, Royal Warwicksire Regiment; born Mollington, lived Wormleighton and enlisted Leamington. In his letter of 13 May 1917, Chaplain Murray states that “Pte Baker was admitted here on May 8th, suffering from severe abdominal wounds and he died very soon after he was admitted on the same day”.
