Lieutenant Ronald Herbert Gillett Trotter worked in Argentina before enrolling into the British Army in August 1914. He was killed in action France and Flanders 25 September1915 (first day of the Battle of Loos) and is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium. (A photograph of Trotter appears in the book ‘Activities of The British Community in Argentina during The Great War 1914-19’, a photocopy of this picture is included as well as a copy of his M.I.C..
