Private Herbert Tate was born in St Pancras, Middlesex and enlisted in London. He was killed in action in France and Flanders 9 May 1915. (With copy of War Battalion War Diary describing the disasterous attack of the 2nd Battalion on the Fromelles Road, 9 May 1915 in which 10 Officers and 63 Other Ranks were killed).
