Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 5 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, S.A. 1901, S.A. 1902 (4308 Pte., 1st Dgn. Gds.) initial erroneously given as ‘H’ on this medal, 1914-15 Star; British War and Victory Medals (GS-12530 Pte, 5 D.Gds.) nearly extremely fine (4) £150-200

Private Arthur Robert Mason was severely wounded (accidentally) at Harrismith 28 September 1901 whilst serving with the 1st Dragoon Guards. (with copy of QSA medal roll confirming mistake re initials). Mason was born and lived in Chatham, Kent. During the Great War he served with the 5th Dragoon Guards and was killed in action France and Flanders 23 December 1917.
