Lieutenant Colonel Henry Crawley joined the 20th Regiment of Foot in 1827 at the age of 16, promoted Lieutenant in 1830 and Captain in 1843. He was adjutant from 1838-41 and was promoted Major on 11 May 1855. He served with the Regiment in India, Bermuda, Canada and in the Crimea from December 1854 to July 1855. He retired on full pay in October 1855 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and died at his home in Brighton on 12 April 1895. Sold with detailed research.
