Army of India 1799-1826, 1 clasp, Maheidpoor (Lieut. Alexr. Mackintosh, 2nd Battn. 14th N.I.) short hyphen reverse, impressed naming, nearly extremely fine and scarce £1200-1400

Ex Elson Collection 1963. A total of 75 clasps were issued to European recipients.

Alexander Mackintosh joined the Indian Army as Ensign on 3 July 1807; Lieutenant, 14th Madras Native Infantry, 2 December 1811; Captain, 27th N.I., commanding Ahmednuggur local battalion, 1 May 1824; brevet Major, 10 January 1837; retired, 30 September 1837. He served with the 2nd battalion, 14th Native Infantry at the battle of Maheidpoor, 21 December 1817, where he was slightly wounded.
