M.C. London Gazette 3 June 1918. ‘... for distinguished service in connection with Military Operations in Italy’.

Donald Henry Pickard was born on 17 November 1888. A Sanitary Inspector by occupation, he attested for the 2nd London Sanitary Company, R.A.M.C. (T.F.) on 5 September 1914. He sailed on the City of Benares from Southampton to Le Havre on 24/25 December 1914. Remaining with the B.E.F. until January 1917, he was discharged to a commission with the 6th Battalion Middlesex Regiment on 28 May 1917. As an officer serving with the battalion in Italy he was awarded the Military Cross for his services. With copied gazette extracts and service papers.
