Owen Charles Hedge was born in Benger, Hertford. A Groom by occupation, he attested for the Scots Guards at London on 6 November 1885, aged 19 years, 7 months. With the Guards, he served in South Africa, March 1900-October 1902. Private Hedge was discharged at the termination of his second period of engagement on 5 November 1906. As an ‘Army Pensioner’ he died on 7 January 1949. With copied attestation papers and death certificate.
