Deputy Superintendent Charles Thomas Rimmer enlisted into the Royal Engineers sometime in 1917, and remained with this corps until January 1920. In May of this year he joined the Indian Police, serving with the Sind Railways, and Karachi and Hyderabad Districts; Police Inspector, Aden and Karachi 1929-30; Railway Inspector (Detective Staff), Karachi 23 October 1931-14 November 1931; City Police Inspector, Hyderabad, 14 November 1931-February 1936; Inspector of Police, Sukkur City, March 1936-February 1939; Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rohri, 17 June 1940.
