Sergeant George W. Percy, a native of Liverpool, was one of eleven n.c.o.’s and men of the 2nd (London) Division Telegraph Battalion, Royal Engineers to serve in the Ashanti Campaign of 1896. During the Great War Percy served in France and was awarded the M.S.M. London Gazette 17 June 1918, whilst serving with ‘G’ Cable Section Company, Royal Engineers. Sold with copies of Ashanti Star medal roll, Great War medal index card and London Gazette for M.S.M.
