Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Johannesburg (Lieut. G. A. Riddell, S. Wales Bord.) nearly extremely fine £100-150

George Augustus Riddell was born on 24 March 1876, and was gazetted 2nd Lieutenant, from the Militia, to the South Wales Borderers on 14 May 1897. He became Lieutenant on 10 September 1898, and served with the regiment in South Africa 1899-1900 (Medal with 3 clasps). He resigned his commission on 26 August 1903, and was appointed Captain in the 3rd Battalion, The Queen’s (Royal West Surrey Regiment) (Militia) on 2 April 1904.
