U.S.S.R., Mounted Group of Nine, awarded to Major Andrei Fedin, comprising: Order of the Red Banner, the reverse numbered ‘296529’; Medal of Valour, the reverse numbered ‘506337’; Defence of Moscow; Capture of Koenigsberg; Victory over Germany; 30th Anniversary of Soviet Forces; 20th Anniversary of WW2; 30th Anniversary of WW2; 50th Anniversary of the U.S.S.R., generally very fine (9) £80-100

Order of the Red Banner (no. 296529) awarded by decree of the Supreme Soviets, 6 November 1945, to Major Andrei Yefimovitch Fedin, for the years he commanded the 3rd Battalion of the 302nd Rifle Regiment, 29th Rifle Division. Major Fedin commanded his battalion until the 13th June 1945. As commander of the battalion during this time he asked nothing of his men that he could not accomplish himself. He performed all his allotted tasks including the successful standing down of his battalion, which he carried out in a correct and commendable manner. He was born in Russia in 1900. Sold with citation from the Moscow Military Archives and English translation.
