73rd (Perthshire) Regiment, a very fine and rare officer’s Albert pattern shako plate (Battalion Companies), 1844-55, QVC over a multi-rayed star, two of the rays with battle honours ‘mangalore’ and ‘Seringapatam’, centrally ‘73’ with milled finish on a burnished oval within circlet inscribed ‘regiment’, wreaths of thistle and laurel to the left and right, scroll inscribed ‘waterloo’ below, two loop fasteners to the reverse are present but the double wire behind the crown are missing, gilt excellent overall, some ray tips bent £400-600
