A contemporary mounted group of nine miniature dress medals attributed to Lieutenant General Sir Charles Tucker, G.C.B., G.C.V.O., 80th Foot, comprising: The Order of The Bath (Military) silver-gilt and enamels; The Royal Victorian Order, silver-gilt and enamels; I.G.S. 1854, 2 clasps, Bhootan, Perak; South Africa 1877, clasp, 1878-9; Q.S.A., 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Paardeberg, Johannesburg; K.S.A., 2 clasps; Jubilee 1897, silver; Coronation 1902, silver; Jubilee 1935, mounted as worn, good very fine (9) £200-250

Served in the Bhootan Expedition 1865; Perak operations 1876; commanded the left attack in the operations against Sekukuni in 1878, the 80th Foot in the column on the Swazi Border in the Zulu War 1879, and the troops at Luneberg. Also led his regiment, attached to Sir Evelyn Wood’s column, on its march through Zululand and in the action at Ulundi (C.B.). In command of Secunderabad District, Madras Presidency, from 1895 until taking command of the Seventh Division of the South African Field Force in December 1899 (Three M.I.D’s and K.C.B.). G.O.C.
