Indian Mutiny 1857-59, 3 clasps, Delhi, Relief of Lucknow, Lucknow (Gunr. C. Chambers, 1st Bde. Bengl. Art.) nearly extremely fine £300-350

Charles Chambers, a native of Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, enlisted in London on 28 March 1853, for 12 years service in the East India Company’s Artillery. He was then aged 21, and arrived in India aboard the ship Nile on 30 September 1853. He was posted as 7750 Gunner to the 1st Company, 1st Troop, Bengal Horse Artillery, with whom he served throughout the Indian Mutiny. He was discharged at Calcutta on 6 September 1859. Sold with copy discharge papers and entry in medal roll.
