Waterloo 1815 (Serj. William Shannon, 1st Batt. 4th Reg. Foot) fitted with contemporary silver clip and bar suspension, some edge bruising and contact marks but generally very fine £450-550

Sergeant William Shannon served in Captain Kirwan’s Company at Waterloo. He was also present at the battle of Salamanca in 1812 for which he subsequently got the M.G.S. medal. This Waterloo medal was sold at Glendining’s on 29 July 1908.
