John Flowers was born in the Parish of Walcott, near Bath, Somerset, and served as a Marine in the Portsmouth Division from May 1800 to August 1802. He enlisted for the 28th Foot ‘for life’ at Fermoy, County Cork, in June 1804, when he was aged twenty-six years. He served in the Peninsular and at the battle of Waterloo, and was discharged in July 1819. Sold with copy discharge papers.
