Distinguished Conduct Medal, G.V.R. (9694 L. Cpl., 1/E. York. Regt.); 1914 Star, with clasp (9694 L. Cpl., 1/E. York. R.) first initial given as ‘T’ on this medal; British War and Victory Medals, with M.I.D. oak leaf (9694 Sjt., E. York. R.) good very fine (4) £1200-1500

D.C.M. London Gazette 10 March 1915 ‘For coolness and resource near Vieux Berquin on 14 October 1914. When carrying orders, he succeeded in avoiding a German cavalry patrol. On the 19th October he was brought to notice for gallantry in carrying messages on several occasions under fire.’
