Wilfred May whose residence at the time of claiming the Great War medals was ‘Gutteridge Hall, Weeley, Essex’ is confirmed as having served with the Royal West Surrey Regiment during the Great War and having entered theatre of war ‘France and Flanders’ on 31 August 1918. Medal Index Card refers, a copy of which accompanies the lot.

Efficiency Medal is for India not Territorial
