Pair: Lance-Corporal I. B. Walton, 4th/7th Dragoon Guards

Based on his service number, I. B. Walton enlisted late 1975/early 1976. In 1986 he was in the 4th/7th Dragoon Guards Quartermaster’s Department as Squadron Technical Quartermaster in charge of technical stores. Served in Cyprus in 1988 where the regiment was the first to use TOGS (Thermal Optical Gunnery System). Promoted to Lance-Corporal in the Quartermaster’s Department in 1989. Called up for the Gulf War, Walton served with the HQ Squadron of the 16th/5th Lancers. It is believed that only 48 Gulf Medals were awarded to the 4th/7th Dragoon Guards.
