William Thomas Upchurch was born in Wigsthorpe, Northamptonshire and enlisted at Kettering. Serving with the 8th Battalion The Queen’s (Royal West Surrey) Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 22 March 1918. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial.
