George Docherty enlisted at Aberdeen. Serving with the 9th Battalion Gordon Highlanders, he died of wounds, France/Flanders, on 30 June 1917, aged 22 years. He was buried in the Etaples Military Cemetery. He was the son of James and Lizzie Curran of High Law Cottage, Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire and a native of Ringford, Kirkcudbrightshire.
