John Willie O’Hara was born in Burnley, lived in Barnoldswick and enlisted at Preston. Serving with the 1st Battalion Shropshire Light Infantry, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 21 October 1914. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial.
