Baltic 1854-55, unnamed as issued; Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R., wide suspension (Rd. Dore, Leadg. Stokr., H.M.S. Hector, 20 Yrs.), minor contact marks and edge nicks, otherwise generally good very fine (2) £550-650

Richard Dore was born in Portsea, Hampshire in October 1825 and entered the Royal Navy as a Stoker aboard H.M.S. Porcupine in May 1852, in which ship he was advanced to Leading Stoker and awarded his Baltic Medal (ADM 171/19 refers). Extending his period of service in May 1862, he was finally pensioned ashore ten years later, receiving his L.S. & G.C. Medal in May 1872; sold with copied service record.
