Efficiency Decoration, G.VI.R., 1st issue, Territorial, reverse officially dated, ‘1946’, unnamed, in Royal Mint case of issue, extremely fine £60-80

With War Office forwarding slip addressed to ‘Lt. Colonel A. E. Greenland, T.D., 28 Throgmoton Street, London, E.C.2’.

Lieutenant-Colonel Edward Greenland joined the Inns of Court O.T.C. on 21 October 1915. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the 8th Battalion London Regiment on 22 June 1916 and was attached to the Chinese Labour Corps in September 1917. He relinquished his commission through ill-health on 17 April 1918. He rejoined the 6th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment as a Lieutenant in March 1921 and was promoted to Captain in 1923. From the T.A. Reserve of Officers he was posted to the Pioneer Corps in March 1940, was promoted to Temporary Major in January 1942 and War Substantive Major and Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel in December 1944. Efficiency Decoration awarded in June 1946.
