Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R., wide suspension (Davd. James, Pte., 26th Co., R.M.L.I., 21 Yrs.), engraved naming, edge nick, good very fine £380-420

David James was born in Warwickshire in July 1832 and enlisted in the Royal Marines at Portsmouth in December 1853. Posted as a Private to the 82nd Company, R.M., he subsequently witnessed active service in the Baltic operations aboard H.M.S. Retribution, and off New Zealand 1863-64 in the Curacoa, and was pensioned in January 1875, shortly after receiving his L.S. & G.C. Medal; sold with copied research.
