David Payne was born in Fordington, Dorchester, Dorset and enlisted at Dorchester. Serving in the 2nd Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment, he died in Mesopotamia on 20 September 1916. His name is commemorated on the Basra Memorial.

Abraham Rose was born in Langley Green, Worcester, lived in Solihull, Warwickshire and enlisted at Birmingham. Serving in the 2nd Battalion Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry, he was killed in action on 15 February 1915, aged 25 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.

Laban John Allen enlisted in Bath. Serving with the 1/4th Battalion Somerset Light Infantry, he died in India on 6 January 1916, aged 19 years. His name is commemorated on the Delhi Memorial. He was the son of Mrs Alice Allen of 21 Garston Street, Shepton Mallet, Somerset.
