Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, South Africa 1901 (4917 Bugr. H. Hayhurst, Scottish Rifles) good fine £60-80

Henry Hayhurst was born in Hulme. Manchester. A Musician by occupation, he attested for the Scottish Rifles in Hamilton, on 16 October 1893 and was appointed a Bugler in April 1894. With the regiment he served in South Africa, February 1900-June 1901. Attaining the rank of Sergeant in September 1912, he was discharged on the termination of his second period of engagement on 15 October 1915. Hayhurst was awarded the Queen’s medal with three clasps and in 1912, the Army L.S. & G.C. with gratuity. During the Great War he served at Home. With copied service papers.
