Waterloo 1815 (Richard Stratfield, 2nd Batt. 95th Regt. Foot) fitted with silver clip and straight bar suspension, edge bruising and contact marks, therefore good fine £2800-3200

Richard Stratfield first appears on the muster rolls for the West Kent Militia on 25 March 1810. On 1 April 1813 he volunteered as a Private to the 2nd Battalion 95th Regiment and received a bounty of five guineas. He went on service to the Peninsula on 5 October 1813, as servant to Lieutenant Francis Dixon of the 2/95th. Lieutenant Dixon was severely wounded ‘in action with the enemy’ on 20 March 1814, and Stratfield is noted in the musters as ‘attending Lieut. Dixon wounded’ at Dover for most of the rest of that year. Both men served at Waterloo with the 2nd Battalion and Stratfield remained in France with the Army of Occupation until September 1818. He spent his remaining service in Ireland where he was discharged on 7 April 1820, his period of service having expired. Sold with muster details.
