Private Isaac Meakin, Notts & Derby Regiment, came from Belper and entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 25 June 1915. Awarded the Military Medal during the course of the war, he later served in the Lincolnshire Regiment and was disembodied on 24 January 1919. Entitled to the 1914-15 Star and Victory Medal.
