William Horace Howard was born in 1878 at Hawkley, Petersfield, joined the Royal Marine Artillery in 1897 and was present aboard H.M.S. Aboukir when she was torpedoed and sunk on 22 September 1914. Sold with two original postcards depicting H.M.S. Aboukir and copied service papers.
