Sapper M. Patrick Giff, 2nd Tunnelling Company, Canadian Engineers, was killed in action on 3 June 1917. He was buried in the Ramparts Cemetery, Lille Gate, Ieper, Belgium.

He was the father of James Giff of Harber Street, Ballynacargy, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath.
