Catuvellauni, Uninscribed issues, Quarter-Stater, zig-zag motif across field, pellet-in-annulets at sides, rev. horse right, cog-wheel and pellets above, pellet in front, annulet below, 1.19g/10h (BMC 368; VA –; S –). Of fine style with a lovely horse, extremely fine and extremely rare; probably less than ten specimens known £1,000-1,200

Known as ‘Finney’s Thunderbolt’ from the obverse motif which may represent lightning and after the late Ian Finney, whose specimen of this extremely rare coin is now in Birmingham City Museum
