Great Britain, Battle of Oudenarde, 1708, silver medal by Croker, 44mm, pierced with a ring and loop for suspension (MI 322/148; Loon V, 95; E 433). Somewhat scuffed and cleaned in the past, about very fine (£30-40)

It is tempting to imagine this commemorative medal was given a suspension loop by a veteran of the campaign in order to display it; this may have been the case but of course there is no means of knowing one way or the other.
