13th Century, A collection of 13th-15th Century London pewter pictorial tokens (59), the majority recovered from the Thames foreshore, including many early issues, some from Billingsgate, sold with owners identifying tickets, labels and drawings:- stag with arrow/shield chevronny (M & S 25), lion/shield chequy (M & S 37), two fighting cocks/Rose (M & S 57), plus an Edward I Penny of Bristol (fragment), found with some of the tokens [60]. M & S 25, 37 and 57 very fine, others fair to fine, a few pierced or damaged; an interesting group with this provenance (£200-250)
