Buckinghamshire, Aylesbury, Skidmore’s mule Halfpenny, 1797, from the same obv. die as previous, rev. shepherd reclining under a tree, edge grained, 9.31g/3h (DH 10; Preston-Morley 1027). Compressed flan crack from 11 o’clock to centre and some minor rim nicks, otherwise about very fine with brown patina, extremely rare; only three other specimens known to the cataloguer £150-200
