Albert Charles Giles was awarded the M.M. in the London Gazette dated 9 December 1916.

His son, Geoffrey Albert Giles, died on active service on 12 June 1944, while serving in ‘A’ Squadron, 24th Lancers (R.A.C.). He was 20 years of age and is buried in Tilly-sur-Seulles War Cemetery.
