John Betts was born in Dalston, Middlesex and enlisted at Walthamstow, Essex. Serving with the 2nd Battalion King’s Royal Rifle Corps, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 29 November 1914. He died of wounds on 31 December 1914. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial, Pas de Calais, France. Sold with copied service papers, m.i.c., and other research.
