Albert Charles Butcher was born in Lambeth, and living at Westminster Bridge Road, London, enlisted at London. Serving as a Corporal in the 1st Battalion Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry, he was killed in action during the Second Battle of the Scarp, Battle of Arras, on 23 April 1917, aged 22 years. He was buried in the La Chaudiere Military Cemetery, Vimy. He was the son of Albert Charles and Mary Ann Butcher of 57 Princes Square, Kennington, London.
