Pair: Captain Thomas John Fouldes, Royal Field Artillery, killed in action, Salonika, 25 June 1918

Thomas John Fouldes was born on 19 August 1891, the son of John and Mary Fouldes. He was educated at Ley’s School, Cambridge before joining his father’s business. When war was declared he joined a Public Schools Battalion and, after obtaining his commission in the R.F.A., went to France in April 1915. There he was wounded in the first battle gas was used (2nd Battle of Ypres, April-May 1915). After convalescence in England he was posted to Salonika. As Captain of “A” Battery, 114th Brigade, R.F.A., he was killed in action on 25 June 1918. He was buried in the Karasouli Military Cemetery. During the course of the war he had been mentioned in despatches. He was the husband of Lydia W. Fouldes of Bencleugh, Harpenden, Hertfordshire. With copied research.
