Pair: Private R. Eldridge, King’s Royal Rifle Corps

Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, undated reverse, 1 clasp, Tamaai (921 Pte., 3/K.R. Rif. C.); Khedive’s Star, 1884, unnamed, first with severe brooch marks on reverse, suspension refitted, edge bruising, pitted, fine; second very fine (2) £180-220

Richard Eldridge was born in Peterborough, Northamptonshire. A Farm Labourer by occupation and a member of the 5th Battalion K.R.R.C. (Militia), he attested for the King’s Royal Rifle Corps at Huntingdon on 3 May 1883. With the 3rd Battalion he served in Egypt, November 1883-ay 1886, and Gibraltar, May 1886-October 1890. Placed in the Army Reserve in November 1890, he was discharged on 2 May 1895.
