Hugh Tulloch, who was born in Islington, London in February 1855, served as a Lieutenant in the Umtali Volunteer Corps in the 1896 and 1897 Rebellions, and, according to his Medal application form, latterly in the rank of Captain & Paymaster. He was a very keen sportsman and the cousin of well-known 1890 Pioneer “Sandy” Tulloch. He died at Umtali Hospital in December 1906, aged 51 years; sold with brief research.
